22 Cambodian Border Jumpers Arrested

Banteay Meanchey: 22 would-be migrant workers have been arrested for trying to cross the border into Thailand. They were picked up on Sunday night by the Border Guard Military Force, in cooperation with the Infantry Brigade and Border Police, at three different locations in one Banteay Meanchey commune.

Commander of the Border Guard, General Khuon Choeun, has told EAC News that the 22 Cambodian workers included nine women and were taken into custody at three different points in O’Bei Choan Commune. Before they were taken into quarantine they were ordered to stop trying to cross the border illegally and were advised to do all they could to stop the spread of Covid-19.
